Class Schedule Winter 2024

We will be doing things a little differently this winter. We won’t be having an open house and we won’t be having any specialty classes at registration with one exception of the Winter Wall Hanging. Our reason for doing this is because we fill all the open spots in our schedule and then bad weather comes and we have to cancel classes, with no make up dates available. Don’t fret though, we will be having many pop up classes throughout the winter as we watch the weather and know we have a date for make up classes in the event of cancellations. So watch our Facebook Page and watch for e-mails as we have loads of winter fun planned. Something else that is new this winter is a Wednesday Evening Open Quilting class as we have many people trying to get into our Tuesday and Thursday evening classes that are full. So we will see how things go this winter and learn as we go along. Classes begin next week, January 9th, all classes must be paid for by January 13th, so make sure you get registered and don’t lose your spot!

Open Quilting Classes $175.

Beginner to advanced quilters are all welcome at our Open Quilting classes. Come and sew with your friends, work on any project that you want to work on, start a new quilt or get back to some of those unfinished projects. As always, the helpful staff at Rivers End Quilting can guide you along the entire process from choosing the right project for you, to finishing your treasure. Classes are $175 for this session of 12 classes. Open quilting classes for this Jan. - April are as follows:

Beginner Quilting - $150 plus supplies

We have another session of Beginner Quilting coming up for 8 weeks beginning on Mar. 4th. The classes are Monday evenings from 5:30 - 8-30pm. If you have been dreaming of learning to quilt? Come join us for this session of learning. We start you at the very beginning, you will learn how to pick fabric, how to measure and cut your fabric, you will learn how to read a quilt pattern, how to make and assemble blocks. And don’t worry, you will have the best teachers going, Murdena and Marie will guide you throughout the entire process and in the end you will be very proud of your very first quilt, made by you! The cost of the session is $150 plus supplies

Fatima Retreats: $75 plus supplies.

We have one retreat in the schedule so far and another one will be announced once we can confirm dates.

As always, we hold this 3 day retreat at Our Lady of Fatima Hall in Sydney River, bring all your sewing gear and projects you want to work on, then leave your stuff all weekend, you lug in and then don’t lug out until Sunday at 2pm.

The dates are:

Mini retreats - $75

These retreats will work the same way as our big retreats. Bring your gear, work on your project and leave all your stuff at the shop for the next day. We have 4 lined up for the winter. We do have project ideas for these mini retreats but if you don’t want to do what we are offering you can still come and work on your own projects. The cost is $75

Winter Welcome Wall Hanging - $40 plus supplies

This awesome wall hanging will look great in your house this Winter and welcome all who come into your home, and you will have the pleasure of saying you made it.

This is a panel project that you will sew together once you have finished all the panels. This class is open to all levels of embroidery experience and if you have never done a panel this is a good place to start.

Saturday Jan. 13th , 9am - 3pm. $40 and it includes the design.

Open Sew/ Open Embroidery - $25 plus supplies

This class is for quilting or doing embroidery, starting new projects or continuing with some of your unfinished projects. Give yourself the gift of a full day of sewing, come join us at the shop. Classes are 9am - 3pm and are $25 each plus supplies.

As a reminder, winter can cause us problems with travel back and forth to class. Classes missed due to weather will be rescheduled by Rivers End Quilting. Any other classes missed by individuals cannot be made up if they are missed.
